Mouse Pads
Appropriate types of Mouse Pads
Mouse pad rubber pads
These are the heavy rubber backed mouse pads with scratch resistant
vinyl. They have excellent non-skid properties and were the early
standard mouse pad.
Non skid vinyl Mouse Pads
Very similar to the Mouse pad rubber pads, but with
a less expensive non-skid backing, very thin construction.
Lenticular Mouse Pads
Lenticular makes an excellent mouse pad, giving it that premium
image which is so desirable. Most appropriate lenticular images
are 3D and flip images. The lenticular surface works well with the
tracker ball on the mouse. More information on lenticular and how it works.
Face material
Scratch resistant vinyl
Scratch resistant vinyl makes an excellent mouse pad surface as the
tooth of the material is an excellent surface for the
tracker ball in the mouse. The material is second surface printed
so the printing is always protected.
Lenticular
In addition to the premium characteristics of lenticular, lenticular
materials make an excellent mouse pad surface. The ridges allow dirt
to fall between the lens, keeping the tracker ball on the mouse cleaner.
Backing Material
Mouse pad rubber
Mouse pad rubber was the early standard backing material
for mouse pads. It has great non-skid characteristics and is accepted
as a premium mouse pad. The backing, however, is fairly expensive.
The standard thickness is 1/8" and is available in other thicknesses.
Non skid vinyl
Similar non-skid characteristics as the mouse pad rubber,
however it does not have premium feel as mouse pad rubber.
Is considerably less costly. |
