Pocket Counter Mats
Pocket counter mats allow the retailer to customize a counter mat
for their outlet. For example, they can change the message on the
counter mat from a “Welcome” message to one featuring
a special item or price. If the advertiser is running a special
program, they can send the retailer a special insert featuring the
special program. Another use might be for the convenience store
operator to insert the winning lotto numbers into the mat. This
makes a powerful tool to involve the retailer and advertiser. We
also have stock size pocket counter mats which are great for lower
quantity applications.
Appropriate types of counter mats
•Counter mats with low tack adhesive backs
Low tack counter mats are the construction of choice as they stay
in place. If the inserts are to be changed repeatedly after the mats
are in place, then we would recommend the spacer pocket construction.
Pocket design is essential before quoting.
•Scratch resistant vinyl
Won’t show scuffing or light scratches. Will maintain its original
appearance longer that other materials. This would be the material
of choice for a top quality mat, unless the buyer insists on a gloss
appearance.
Face Material
•Clear rigid vinyl
This is the normal material of choice for low tack pocket counter
mats. Keep in mind that clear rigid vinyl has some scratches when
it comes from the mill and also has “swirl” marks. This
is a normal characteristic of clear rigid vinyl.
•Other clear materials
A few customers who object to the scratches or swirl marks may specify
PETG or Polycarbonite which may be ordered with film liners to protect
the surface of the plastic. These are both premium priced materials.
Backing Material
•Low tack adhesive backing
“Best” application as it “Reserves” the space
for the advertiser. Low tack pressure sensitive will easily release
from the counter top and leave no residue.
•Non skid vinyl
Works well on the counter top and doesn’t scoot around on the
counter like a foam backed mat will. Doesn’t reserve the space
like a low tack mat will as it can easily be moved aside by another
advertiser to let them put their mat in its place. |
